Find More About Our Story as a Dog-Loving Family

Hello, my name is Naomi Radicella. I, along with my husband and three children, have raised different dog breeds as pets, including a Basset Hound, English Bulldog, and Yorkshire Terrier-all of which had unique characteristics and personalities. Although all of our pets were loved and cherished, I always had issues combatting some of their not-so-fun qualities particularly the endless shedding and the sour wet-dog smell that is associated with most breeds.

Our youngest daughter was born shortly after Phoebe, our English Bulldog, passed away at ten years old. Unfortunately, as she grew older so did Rachie, our precious little old lady Yorkshire Terrier. Our daughter wanted to play with Rachie like a fun young pup, and Rachie was NOT having it! She preferred enjoying her senior years tucked comfily in her highness’s bed or on a warm lap on the sofa. Rachie is the sweetest, most well-behaved Yorkshire that I have ever encountered. After all, she was mothered by the mellow Bulldog. Regardless, there was no way she was going to be the playmate of the four-year-old!

As time went on, we discussed getting another dog, and so we embarked on the search for our next “perfect” dog. But did the perfect dog exist? One that wouldn’t shed everywhere? Who doesn’t need a weekly bath? Or one that wasn’t too fragile for a child to romp around with, yet gentle and trustworthy enough with children?

From the word of the “most wise,” seek and you shall find. So we sought, and then eventually discovered the Australian Labradoodle, also known as the Cobberdog (which is Australian slang for “friend”). We finally found our “Puppers”, Lucy, from a reputable breeder in Iowa. It was from there, with the help of my mentor and the ALAA, that I decided to begin breeding this intelligent dog.

The Australian Labradoodle breed is low-to-non shedding. They have a sweet smell of their own, only requiring a bath every 8–10 weeks, and they can romp around with the best of them! Being extremely smart and easy to train, many are used for therapy and aid. I think this breed is as “perfect” as they come. We are smitten with Lucy and so glad we found her!

My family and I have been blessed with healthy dogs, all of which I give credit to God and the respective breeders from which they came. It's from these experiences I have learned to believe that a happy, healthy puppy comes from a happy, healthy home.

Blessings from our family to yours,

Grace Manor.
